Privacy Statement
For Barnabas Haward at The Alpine Room
How and why I collect data
I’m committed to keeping your data safe. I collect only basic personal data about you when you visit this site and I will never sell, rent, transfer or disclose any of that information to other organisations.
This site places cookies, which are small data files, on your computer, mobile or tablet. This is standard practice for all websites. Using cookies gives me an idea of who’s visiting and which pages are most popular, so I can keep improving the site.
I use a third party service provider – Squarespace – to collect and analyse this information, but it is processed in a way which does not make it possible to identify anyone. All I can see is the country you access the site from and which pages you view. I don’t make any attempt to identify visitors to the site, and neither does Squarespace.
Most browsers accept cookies automatically, but you can set your browser to erase cookies or to not automatically say yes to cookies in your preferences menu.

If you get it touch with me at barney@thealpineroom.com, I will need to know your basic personal data to respond to you – specifically your name and email address. I won’t collect any personal data from you I don’t need, though. If you contact me by phone, I may keep a record of that too. I’ll keep your data for no longer than two years after we were last in touch.
How I process and store your data – and how you can access it
Any data I collect is processed by me, here in Germany. This information may be hosted outside of Germany – specifically in secure cloud services based in the US – but no third parties will have access to your personal data unless the law allows them to do so.
I have a data protection system in place to make sure any information you give me is protected and processed effectively and securely.
If at any point you believe the information I have about you is incorrect, you can contact me to see it and have it corrected or deleted. And if you wish to raise a complaint about how I’ve handled your data, get it touch with me at barney@thealpineroom.com and I’ll investigate.
If you’re not satisfied with my response or you think I’ve not processed your data in accordance with the law, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk
